Man sues Reds’ Chapman, says he was friendly with Castro government

A Florida man is suing Cincinnati Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman, a Cuban defector, for $18 million, saying Chapman’s cooperation with Cuban security forces resulted in the man being arrested and tortured by the Castro government.

The suit alleges that Chapman cooperated with the government to be reinstated to the Cuban national team after an earlier failed attempt to defect resulted in a suspension from the Cuban team.

The Reds had no comment on the suit.
